Partytime

Organising a party is a rather stressful kind of work and especially if you have only three weeks for preparing it. It was the second time I did this but the last time we had three months to find a location, the bands, an audio engineer and equipment. On the one hand we were worried about the organisation within that little time, on the other hand we knew where to buy the drinks and food and had a little experience with all the work during the party.
Three weeks we were planning, one day we prepared the location (building up the bar, music equipment,…), one night long the party took place and after the party we cleaned the location, went home for sleeping in the next morning and some came back to do the rest in the afternoon. I stayed awake for about 37 hours. (It’s like being on drugs…). But all the work will be finished about three weeks later (you have to pay bills, bring back borrowed things, share the money,…).
The party itself wasn’t as successful as the first one because of many reasons. It was the beginning of the school year and not the beginning of holidays, so the people weren’t in the same party-mood. Furthermore the location was a different one and in a different town because the owner of the last one was a priest and didn’t want any “discos and drugs” (???) in this building anymore. In the morning of the day when the party took place the renter told us that it was prohibited to smoke inside the building (wtf????)!
Three bands of different styles were performing: D Unit (Hip Hop), Forellensittich (Metal), Sunset Riders (Country-Rock or something) and only Forellensittich was absolutely cooperative (Thank you very, very much!) the other two had some kind of star-affectation.

In the end we (six workers, 5 organisers and 3 main organisers including me) can be proud that we managed it to break through those obstacles, have made (although if it was less than the last time) success and did not only have stress but also fun.

Eine Party zu organisieren ist eine ziemlich anstrengende Arbeit, besonders wenn man gerade einmal drei Wochen Zeit zur Vorbereitung hat. Es war zwar das zweite Mal, dass ich so etwas gemacht habe doch beim letzen hatten wir drei Monate lang Zeit um eine Location, die Bands, den Tontechniker und das übrige Equipment aufzutreiben. Auf der einen Seite waren wir gestresst durch die Organisation in solch kurzer Zeit aber andererseits wussten wir schon wo wir die Getränke und Essen her bekommen und hatten Erfahrungen mit dem Ablauf der Arbeiten während der Party.
Drei Wochen Planung, ein Tag Aufbau (Bar, Tontechnik,…), eine Nacht lang Party, danach folgte das Wegräumen bis am nächsten Morgen alle nach Hause schlafen gingen und nachmittags wurde noch der Rest erledigt. Doch die ganze Arbeit wird erst drei Wochen nach der Feier beendet sein (Rechnungen müssen bezahlt werden, ausgeborgte Dinge zurückgebracht werden, der Gewinn wird verteilt, …)

Die Party selbst war nicht so ein Erfolg wie das letzte Mal und das hatte mehrere Gründe: Es war Schulbeginn und nicht –Schluss, also ist niemand in einer allzu großen Partylaune. Wir mussten in eine andere Location umsiedeln und sogar in den nächsten Ort, da der Vermieter vom letzten Mal meinte, er möge keine „Discos und Drogen“ (???) mehr einmieten lassen. Als wir am Morgen der Party das Gebäude betraten wurde uns gesagt, dass es ein Rauchverbot gäbe im gesamten Haus gäbe (was zur Hölle???)!
Außerdem mussten wir viel zu lange mit den Bands und ihren Star-Allüren kämpfen. Drei Bands spielten D-Unit (HipHop), Sunset Riders (Country-Rock-Irgendwas) und nur Forellensittich (hier noch einmal ein fettes Dankeschön!), waren wirklich kooperativ.

Alles in allem können wir (6 Arbeiter, 5 Organisatoren und 3 Hauptorganisatoren inklusive mich) stolz sein, dass wir es trotz so vieler Hindernisse es geschafft haben das Beste aus dem Festl herauszuholen und nicht nur Stress sondern auch großen Spaß bei der Sache hatten.
